High-Intensity Personal Care

High-Intensity Daily Personal Activities

At Nepean Disability Support Organization, we are a registered NDIS provider delivering high-quality, high-intensity support for participants with complex care needs. These services are designed to ensure participants receive safe, respectful, and clinically informed care from qualified and trained staff.

What Are High-Intensity Supports?

High-Intensity Daily Personal Activities involve specialised care that goes beyond standard personal support due to the risk and complexity of the participant’s needs. These supports require trained workers to carry out or assist with:

  • Tracheostomy care and ventilation
  • Enteral (PEG) feeding
  • Complex bowel care
  • Urinary catheter management
  • Wound care
  • Severe dysphagia support
  • Subcutaneous injections (e.g. insulin)
  • Palliative care needs

These supports must be delivered in line with the NDIS Practice Standards and the High Intensity Support Skills Descriptors (HISSD).

Our Approach to High-Intensity Care

Who Is Eligible?

Participants may be eligible for high-intensity supports if they:

  • Require ongoing management of a complex health condition
  • Need care that poses a risk if not provided correctly
  • Have been assessed by their healthcare team or NDIS planner
